Rubena e-Bike Tyres
Specialised tyres engineered for the power of electric drive — for city e-bikes, e-MTBs, e-Gravel and cargo bikes
Rubena e-Bike Tyres — engineered for the power of electric drive
Discover our specialised range of tyres for e-bikes, combining almost 100 years of tyre-making experience with the modern demands of electric mobility. E-bikes put significantly greater strain on tyres than conventional bikes — higher weight, higher speeds, more frequent acceleration and braking. That's why we developed the dedicated E-LITE line with reinforced construction.
Our e-Bike tyres cover every type of electric bike — from city e-bikes for commuting, through e-MTB for off-road adventures, e-Gravel for gravel roads, all the way to rugged tyres for cargo bikes. Each type is optimised for its specific use, accounting for the increased load and demands of electric drive.
Why do you need special tyres for an e-bike?
E-bikes typically weigh 8–12 kg more than conventional bikes, and the motor enables faster acceleration and more frequent riding at higher speeds. That means greater tyre load, higher temperatures, faster wear and an increased risk of punctures. Our e-bike tyres have reinforced construction, more durable sidewalls, a tougher tread and special rubber compounds that handle these extreme conditions.
All tyres are manufactured exclusively in the Czech Republic, in Náchod, with an emphasis on quality, safety and long service life. For e-bike tyres, quality control is even stricter, because safety at higher speeds is critical. Our tyres are used by city e-bike commuters and demanding e-MTB riders alike.
We offer tyres in every standard size — 700C, 26", 27.5" and 29" for city and gravel e-bikes, MTB sizes for e-MTBs, and dedicated sizes for cargo bikes. Whether you ride a light city e-bike or a powerful e-MTB with an 85 Nm motor, you'll find the right tyre engineered exactly for your needs.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Answers to the most common questions about e-bike tyres
Do I really need special tyres for an e-bike?
Yes, we strongly recommend it. E-bikes typically weigh 8–12 kg more than conventional bikes, reach higher average speeds, and the motor causes more frequent acceleration and higher loads. All of that leads to faster tread wear, higher temperatures, increased puncture risk and shorter service life on conventional tyres.
Our E-LITE tyres have reinforced construction, tougher sidewalls and special rubber compounds engineered specifically for these demanding conditions. The investment in the right tyres pays off in safety and longer service life.
What's the difference between E-LITE and regular tyres?
The E-LITE line has several key improvements: Reinforced carcass construction withstands higher loads. Tougher sidewalls provide better stability at high speeds. A more durable tread lasts longer under frequent electric-assisted use. An extra puncture-protection layer minimises the risk of punctures. Testing for higher speeds and temperatures.
And we still offer excellent value — E-LITE tyres are more affordable than premium brands while delivering comparable quality and safety.
Can I use MTB or Road tyres on an e-bike?
It depends on the type of e-bike and riding style. For powerful e-MTBs with big motors (75+ Nm) we recommend either E-LITE tyres or rugged Racing tyres like Monarch or Highlander. For e-Gravel, X-Road E-LITE, Eagle or X-Field are suitable. For city e-bikes, we always recommend dedicated city tyres with anti-puncture protection (Cityhopper, Electron, Flash).
The general rule: the more powerful the motor and the more often you use electric assistance, the more it pays off to invest in dedicated e-bike tyres for safety and longer service life.
What pressure should I inflate e-bike tyres to?
Pressure depends on tyre width, total weight (bike + rider + cargo) and surface type. Generally, run higher pressure than on a conventional bike because of the greater weight.
- City e-bikes 26–28" x 1.75–2.25: 3.5–5 bar (50–70 psi)
- E-MTB 27.5/29 x 2.10–2.60: 2.5–4 bar (35–60 psi), lean towards lower values off-road
- E-Gravel 700 x 35–45C: 3–5 bar (45–70 psi)
- Cargo bikes: 4–6 bar (60–85 psi) depending on load
For higher speeds, pick higher pressure for stability. Always respect the maximum pressure printed on the tyre sidewall.
